Tumbledown | Rotten Tomatoes (1) Leonard Maltin leonardmaltin.com This one rewards the viewer with a typically fine performance by Rebecca Hall and a revelatory one by Jason Sudeikis, whom we usually associate with comedy. Feb 16, 2016 Full Review Tumbledown | Rotten Tomatoes (2) Peter Travers Rolling Stone First-time director Sean Mewshaw and screenwriter Desi Van Til - they're married - have decided, intriguingly, to craft a movie about loss and letting go. And they've done so with uncommon humor and heart. Rated: 3/4 Feb 12, 2016 Full Review Tumbledown | Rotten Tomatoes (3) Drew Lazor Philadelphia Inquirer Tumbledown comes up light in the categories that matter most, miring a capable cast in a forced cable-knit folksiness familiar to anyone who has ever watched anything set in New England. Rated: 2/4 Feb 12, 2016 Full Review Tumbledown | Rotten Tomatoes (4) Stephen Saito Moveable Fest By the time "Tumbledown" reaches its genuinely rousing conclusion, you could wonder why Hannah was ever down in the dumps, but it's all the more satisfying because of the path she has to take to get there. Meghann V This is a beautiful, unvarnished film full of complex characters exploring topics like grief, moving on, purpose, and what binds people together. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/24/23 Full Review Evie Lynn S Mainers have reason to question some of the accents and colloquialisms in Tumbledown. All viewers may notice inconsistencies and seeming filming errors. Still I was tickled-pink to stumble upon this little gem of a movie! Sudeikis and Hall are well-cast, each does well both with the dramatic, as well as the comedic and romantic scenes. The film, including the rest of the cast, especially Richard Maser and Blythe Danner, is wicked watchable. Even those from away will find this little indie film enjoyable. PS. I never realized just how charming Jason Sudeikis could be …. geezum! Rated 4/5 Stars • Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/07/23 Full Review kevin c Rebecca Hall plays a widow who, a year after losing her musician husband is forced to deal with the loss when a writer played by Jason Sudeikis, begins working with her on his biography. I liked this pairing of Hall and Sudeikis. Hall is always excellent and Sudeikis is underrated in his more dramatic roles. Very good movie. Rated 3/5 Stars • Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review rose d A lovely performance by the two leads cannot make up for an uninspired and predictable plot. As the audience I felt I never really got to know Hunter, the focus of the lead character for most of the film, and otherwise the plot is simply a straight forward boy meets girl story. The pacing at the end felt forced and made Jason's character seem unsympathetic. Overall, I think this could have been a much better movie with a few tweaks here and there. Rated 3/5 Stars • Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Jason Sudeikis is terrifically likeable as a leading man! Rebecca Hall is appropriately conflicted about moving forward with the man she hired to write her late husband's biography. Blythe Danner and Richard Masur are good as her parents. Rated 3.5/5 Stars • Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member Honestly had zero expectations going into this, & it honestly wasn't too bad. Not the worst way to spend an hour & forty five minutes. Rated 3/5 Stars • Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Read all reviews
